Nadia Shafiana Rahma, a student of the English Language Education Study Program (PBI) at Yogyakarta State University (UNY) from the Class of 2023, was selected as the Runner-Up for the Language Ambassador (Duta Bahasa) of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) in June 2024. Aside from her wonderful achievement as a language ambassador Runner-Up (Duta Bahasa), She has also demonstrated extraordinary dedications in the world of literacy by publishing 21 books, including novels, short story collections, poetry, and comics. This certainly represents a significant contribution to the role of supporting language learning and the broad preservation of culture.

Nadia emphasized that the values of the Language Ambassador align closely with her interest in promoting the Trigatra Bangun Bahasa: prioritizing the Indonesian language, preserving regional languages, and mastering foreign languages. "The position of Language Ambassador will serve as a bridge to create a broader positive impact in society," she stated.

The selection process for the Language Ambassador took about a month, and Nadia faced a significant challenge as it coincided with her Final Exams. However, thanks to the support from the lecturers at the Faculty of Language and Cultural Arts, especially the lecturers from the English Language Education program, Nadia was able to maintain her commitment and time management effectively.

Nadia hopes that the people of DIY can better understand the importance of prioritizing the Indonesian language and preserving regional languages. She also emphasized that mastering foreign languages is the key to unlocking more opportunities in various fields.

"Duta Bahasa is one of the best experiences of my life. I can gain new knowledge, as well as making new friends and acquired valuable skills such as public speaking, content creation, and personal branding. I am very grateful to be a part of the Language Ambassador of DIY," she added.

With high dedication and strong commitment, Nadia Shafiana Rahma is ready to contribute to advancing the use of proper and correct language in society, while also supporting the preservation of cultural language and quality education.
