STUDENTS ASSOCIATION OF ENGLISH EDUCATION FROM UNIVERSITY OF GALUH CIAMIS HELD ACADEMIC VISIT TO LANGUAGES AND ARTS FACULTY OF UNY

FBS-Karangmalang The English Student Association (Hima) of the Faculty of Languages and Arts (FBS), the English Department Student Association (EDSA), received a visit from the English Education Student association (PBI) of Galuh Ciamis University (Unigal) last Friday (8/5). Located in the Karawitan Laboratory building, this academic visit was enthusiastically welcomed by the EDSA board members.

The university, which is the only one in Tatar Galuh Ciamis, West Java, sent 60 delegates accompanied by Dadang, M.Pd. as a lecturer in the PBI Unigal study program. Baihaqi Adi Utama as chairman of EDSA welcomed the arrival of the civitas group. On that occasion, Baihaqi conveyed his greetings and expressed his apologies for the absence of the Head of the English Education Department of FBS UNY in the activity. The greetings from both parties started the morning's activities. In his remarks, Dadang hoped that this opportunity could be utilized as well as possible with the hope of opening the horizons of the two Hima for the development of further programs and to create closer cooperation between student organizations from the two campuses.

The main event is the exchange of opinions about student activities and work programs. On this occasion, each division in the two organizations made a presentation followed by a question and answer session. The discussion was effective, serious but relaxed like a student. The work programs and divisions in Hima PBI Unigal are more or less the same as those at EDSA. However, Unigal does not yet have a division that focuses on the field of information media. Therefore, it becomes an important note for future evaluation. In the discussion, the enthusiasm of the participants was quite high, as indicated by the many questions asked in each session. Most of the questions were about programs in the academic realm such as EDSA Teaching, IELTS test procurement, and welcoming new students.

Dadang and his entourage from the PBI Unigal community visited the city of gudeg on an academic visit entitled English Journey. According to him, this visit is not just a “picnic” but a scientific tour to increase the horizons of thinking between student associations.

The Unigal delegation also conveyed their gratitude, as well as asked farewell to the EDSA management because they would carry out the next trip. The event closed with the presentation of mementos and group photos. (Muvida Aulia/HumasFBS)
