English Education Study Program become one of the winners of the Government Assistance for the Independent Campus Competition Program (PKKM)

FBS-Karangmalang English Language Education Study Program (PBI) of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) managed to become one of the winners of the Government Assistance for the Independent Campus Competition Program (PKKM) for the 2021 Fiscal Year. The study program receives a budget assistance of Rp 1,425 billion. It won the competition along with Sports Coaching Education and Chemistry Study Program of UNY.

The Independent Campus (Kampus Merdeka) Policy was enacted by the Minister of Education and Culture (MoEC). It is one of the MoEC’s efforts to advance and develop Indonesia’s higher education institutions. Specifically, it aims to create competitive human resources who are healthy, intelligent, adaptive, creative, innovative, skilled, dignified, productive, and have character that reflects the values ​​of Pancasila.

One of the important instruments to measure the success of achieving those aims is the eight Key Performance Indicators (IKU) that have been established through the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture Number 754/P/2020. This program is an effort to develop universities in order to keep pace with changing times. This is done by making sure that they create quality learning activities and produce good graduates.

In a letter No. 0324/E.E1/KM.11.02/2021 issued by MoEC, UNY is officially selected as one of the higher education institutions that won the competition after passing three stages of selection: administrative evaluation, proposal quality and feasibility evaluation, and feasibility verification (through online visits). PBI UNY managed to become one of the funded study programs under the direction of the Study Program Coordinator Nur Hidayanto PSP, S.Pd., M.Pd., Ph.D and the Task Force Coordinator Ari Purnawan, S.Pd., M.Pd., M.A.
