TWO PBI STUDENTS WON BRONZE MEDAL IN THAILAND INNOVATION DAY 2019

FBS - Karangmalang Two PBI students, Apriliana (2015) and Muhammad Fauzi Al-Baihaqi (2015) left for Bangkok, Thailand to compete at IPITEx (International, Intellectual Property, Invention, Innovation and Technology Exposition). The event was held from the 1st to 6th of Frebuary by National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT). The participation was in collaboration with some students of other faculties. The project leader was Dhanu Prasetya D, from Faculty of Engineering, that initiated the idea of innovation. Moreover, the PBI students played the role as the presenters and translators.

The product of innovation they presented was about solving the problems of water scarcity in particular areas in Indonesia. The product was entitled Modified Overflow-based Irrigation System or called MOBIS. It was the technology of making use of rainwater that was stored and kept for a long term. Therfore, people could access water during the dry season.

This innovation was awarded Bronze medal from the NRCT. Other countries competing in this competition were Canada, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, Egypt, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Macau, Malaysia, Moraco, the Philippines, Poland, Romania, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Taiwan, Uni Arab Emirate, Great Britain, Vietnam and Thailand.
