FBS Karangmalang Campus Orientation for Freshmen entitled English for Freshmen (EFF) in 2015 brought the theme of “Empowering Youth to Serve the Country”. The theme was chosen for preparing freshmen to be the generation who grow with critical thinking, active participation for nation, “ Kharisma Wahyu Pratama, the chair of committee, said.

The orientation program was held for 172 freshmen at Tedjokusumo Stage Bulding (28/8/2015).

The program was to introduce the campus life and to prepare students with the learning system in the English Education Department.

The students watched the video of campus tour. The introduction session of lecturers and  the academic dialog were held. The discussion was attended by speakers, Drs. Samsul Maarif, M.A., the head of English Education Department and Andy Bayu Nugroho, M.Hum., the head of English Literature Study Program. Both speakers explained about special programs in the department, such as English for Children, English For Business, Translation Studies, Advanced Linguistics, dan Advanced TEFL. Andy Bayu also explained the special programs in English Literature, namely Linguistics, English Literature, dan Translation.

English Department Student Association (EDSA), Student organization in the English Education department also introduced their members. The freshmen were invited to join the divisions of EDSA according to their interest. At the end of the event, freshmen enjoyed the entertaining performance of EDSAcoustic and Relung Teathre, It was to promote to freshmen that English Education students were those who actively participate in academics and other activities.
