DISCUSSION ON THE ICT INTEGRATION AND STUDY SKILLS IN PBI

FBS- Karangmalang The Department of English Language Education (PBI) FBS UNY once again held a program to support the Internationalization of Study Programs and the implementation of the Indonesian National Qualifications Framework (KKNI) based curriculum. The program, which was held on Thursday, December 18, 2014, was in the form of an open discussion inviting a resource person from Monash University, Dr. Dat Bao.

The discussion focused on developing Course Outlines (RPS) according to the KKNI-based curriculum. In this open discussion, Dr. Dat Bao shared his experience on the preparation of RPS which is a demand for the implementation of the IQF-based curriculum. RPS includes the formulation of SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) for lectures, formulation of study skills (a guide to the abilities that students have to possess to achieve the maximum learning outcomes), the integration of ICT in lectures, and others. Several lecturers also shared their experiences about the preparation of the RPS and the various obstacles they faced.

The conclusion obtained is that hard work in the preparation of the RPS is obviously needed to facilitate the implementation of teaching and learning. This open discussion is one of a series of activities that support the implementation of the KKNI-based curriculum in the study program. In connection with the course of the implementation of the KKNI-based curriculum in 2014, PBI lecturers are trying to make the curriculum implementation better for the future. (Devi H)
